"My First Day at BESTTURN"
Finally Stepping into Incheon Airport! _A New Hire’s First Day Story
2024 - 09 - 02
August 20 – I’m officially an Incheon Airport person now~ ✈️
During the interview, all I could think was, “Can I really make it?” I was honestly full of doubt. But then—I got the email saying I passed! I was SO x10000000 excited!!
Now I’m finally working at Incheon Airport… I’m one of the “Incheon Airport crew” too!! 🎉
September 1 – Got a message from the CEO: “Start right away!”
“Yessir!” 🫡 I replied—ready to jump in and start on the spot!!
September 2 – First commute to Incheon Airport 🚎
With butterflies in my stomach, I hopped on the bus heading to Terminal 1. It was a regular workday, but honestly? It kinda felt like I was going on a trip. Super excited and all. ☺️
As soon as I stepped into the 3rd floor of Terminal 1, I was greeted by a sea of travelers.
And of course, the thought hit me— “Ughhh I wanna go to Paris too 😭 Should I just… check in and go?”
Turns out, BESTTURN’s office is located inside the secured area of Incheon Airport.
So I had to apply for an access badge, go through a security check, and then wait for it to be issued.
Makes sense—it’s Incheon Airport after all, so the process is a bit complicated.
(But honestly, it’s only tricky the first time—once you get the badge, it’s super easy to move around 😄)
Full-time airport staff use a pass instead of a passport or boarding ticket.
You just beep your pass, go through security, and then you’re inside the airside of the airport.
Walking around the terminal without a passport or ticket felt so surreal! 🛂
Finally made it to the BESTTURN office!
They told me to wear comfy shoes, and I was like, “Huh? Why?”
But yeah… totally got it.
It took me a full 15 minutes to walk from the subway to the office 💦
I’m glad I wore sneakers today— guess I’ll treat this walk like my daily morning workout and keep at it! 💪🏻
The onboarding sessions covered everything new hires should know— from a full introduction to Incheon Airport to BESTTURN’s vision and core values. But it wasn’t just a list of info. They really walked us through the kinds of situations we might face at the airport once we get started.
That’s when it hit me—
“Ah… I’m officially an Incheon Airport person now.” ✈️
On day 2 of onboarding, we had security training and testing to get our official airport pass. On day 3, we got a full rundown of the OJT process related to operations.
Step by step, everything was explained so clearly— I started to feel genuinely confident that I could settle in well at Incheon Airport and at BESTTURN. 🙁
BESTTURN, a startup at Incheon Airport—
As exciting as this new challenge is, I have to admit… there’s just as much fear as there is excitement.
“Will I be able to adjust? Will I get along with the team? Can I really live up to the role they brought me in for?”
One of the biggest takeaways from the onboarding program was this:
“At our company, you’re never alone—we’re a team. There’s nothing at Incheon Airport you can do by yourself.”
Since it’s just the beginning, I’m reminding myself not to feel too pressured.
As BESTTURN grows, I want to believe that my skills, my confidence—(and maybe even my bank account? 😄)—will grow with it.Time to give it my best with a positive mindset!
Let’s go! Fighting!! 💪✨

On my first day, instead of jumping straight into intense work,
we kicked things off with orientation—or as they call it here, the “Onboarding Program.”
I heard from others that most ground handling companies at the airport throw you into operations on day one.
But at BESTTURN? They’ve built their own 1-week onboarding program.
And all I could think was,
“Wait… I’m getting paid to learn and settle in? NICE~” 😎
